ManicTime supports MCP (Model Context Protocol), so AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, OpenAI Codex, and GitHub Copilot can read your tracked activity and write tags back.
There are three ways to connect, depending on where your data lives:
- Connecting AI to the desktop app - a built-in local MCP server in the ManicTime desktop app (Windows, Mac, Linux). Data stays on your computer.
- Connecting AI to ManicTime Cloud - connect AI tools directly to your ManicTime Cloud workspace over HTTPS with OAuth.
- Connecting AI to ManicTime Server - connect AI tools to an on-premise ManicTime Server through the ManicTime MCP Bridge.

No matter how you connect, MCP only returns data the signed-in account is allowed to access.
