How is Mac version different
ManicTime for Mac is a tracker that records computer usage and sends it to ManicTime Cloud or ManicTime Server, where you can view timelines, tag time, and run reports. On the Mac, you can use the menu bar icon to manage the tracker and the Away window to tag time away from the computer. There is no local Day view like the Windows client has.
Before you install ManicTime
To view your tracked timelines, sign up for ManicTime Cloud or set up ManicTime Server, then connect your Mac. You can run the tracker without a connection, but you cannot view the tracked timelines locally. Connect it to Cloud or Server when you are ready to view them.
Installation
Download installation file (.dmg), double click to unpack it, then again double click on .pkg file. After it is installed, you can run it from your Applications folder.
If it runs successfully, you should see ManicTime icon in the status menu bar in the top right corner.
ManicTime needs macOS Accessibility permission to read the active application and window title. Grant it when macOS prompts you. If the Applications timeline stays empty or shows no window titles, check that ManicTime is enabled under macOS Accessibility permissions, then restart ManicTime.
Connecting to cloud
On the license popup screen, choose "Connect to ManicTime Cloud" and enter your email and password.

ManicTime should now be configured. You can visit the web server by clicking on the ManicTime icon and choosing "Go to server".

On the server, you should now see data from Mac.

Connecting to ManicTime Server
First check that ManicTime Server is running and is accessible from the Mac device. Open a browser and navigate to ManicTime Server. If you can get to the server and everything looks OK, connect to the server from ManicTime for Mac.

Click on "Connect to on premise ManicTime Server", then enter the IP and port information of ManicTime server.
Then enter your username and password (if server is using Windows authentication, then these are your Windows credentials, same as when you login to Windows).

Then go to the ManicTime server, Administration, Connected devices. You should see Mac machine under connected devices. You should also see data coming from Mac on Timelines report.
